Color planning cheat sheet

Use this as a first-pass wholesale color notes. Exact dye lots and nude depth still need sample confirmation.

  • Fashion core

    Black · Ivory · 2–4 nude depths

Should be in almost every first fashion order.

  • Fashion accent

Bordeaux · Red · Pink · Emerald · Seasonal pastels

1–2 accents per capsule is enough for a test.

  • Fashion sleep

Ivory · Blush · Soft grey · Print options

Lighter stories photograph well for e-commerce gift programs.

  • Bridal-leaning

Ivory · Champagne · Soft nude · Black

Keep packaging gift-ready; opacity still needs sample checks.

Fabric & construction by climate

Planning notes only. For material briefing detail, open the Fabric library and Lace encyclopedia.

  • Hot / humid

Cotton, cool-touch microfiber, light lace, mesh. Avoid heavy foam and dense winter knits as the core offer.

  • Temperate fashion markets

Stretch lace + clean microfiber cores. Recycled-feel stories and clear care labels help private-label programs.

  • Cold / seasonal

Opaque microfiber, lined lace, warmer lounge, supportive underwire. Keep sheer fashion as accent only.

  • Coverage-led markets

Lined lace, power mesh, high-waist briefs, shape shorts. Test opacity on sample before bulk.

Packaging notes buyers often miss

Confirm branding and carton needs early. For a full briefing checklist, open the packaging guide.

  • Standard wholesale

Polybag + carton marks are enough for many stock programs. Confirm barcode / SKU labeling needs early.

  • Private label

Logo, hangtag language, care label and carton branding should be listed in the inquiry—especially for EU and Middle East.

  • Gift / holiday

Set boxes and ribbon-ready presentation matter for Nov–Dec and occasion retail. Sample the pack, not only the garment.

  • E-commerce photography

Fashion sleep, lace sets and clean ivory looks usually photograph better. Share if you need flat-lay friendly fashion styles.

What usually sells first by category

Fashion sets
USA/EU: lace and soft fashion sets. Middle East: lined lace. LatAm: costume and bold lace. East Asia: delicate low-bulk lace sets.
Costume / multi-piece
Stronger in LatAm, USA e-commerce and fashion boutiques. Keep pack-out clear so multi-piece looks stay matched.
Fashion sleepwear
Babydolls and chemise for warm markets and gifts; robe sets and opaque sleep for colder seasons and bridal-leaning programs.
Bodysuits & corsets
Fashion body and corset looks work as assortment accents—especially LatAm, EU FW and bridal-leaning capsules.
OEM-only programs
Shapewear and activewear are OEM-only paths when the inquiry is clear—not LaceSource ready-stock hubs.

Sourcing path

Ready-to-ship or OEM—which route fits?

Two main paths for fashion lingerie: buy photographed stock for speed, or send designs for OEM. Private label brands a ready-stock fashion base.

Path 1

Ready-to-ship wholesale

Best when you need stock programs fast. Pick photographed styles, confirm quantity and destination, then inquire. Starter wholesale MOQ often begins around 200 pcs per style/color.

Path 2

Private label (optional on stock)

Keep the same ready-stock base, then add your labels, hangtags, packaging and selected colorways—especially useful when a region needs local language packaging or gift presentation.

Path 3

OEM manufacturing

Choose OEM when you have designs, Tech Packs or clear specs and need custom construction. If the market direction is clear but the product still needs development before sampling, start with ODM instead.

Order & sampling notes

Wholesale

How do I specify MOQ without slowing the quote?

Read full MOQ guide

MOQ moves with construction, fabric commitment and color count—not one universal number. A USA lace-set capsule and a LatAm costume drop should not share the same briefing assumptions. Send style codes, quantity per color, destination market and packaging type so the first quote stays realistic.

If this is a regional test, say so—200-piece starters are often the cleanest first step. Separate test quantity from replenishment so dye and fabric commitments stay clear.

  • Separate test quantity from replenishment quantity.
  • Lock nude depth count before bulk dye commitments.
  • Note region-specific packaging or labeling needs early.

Sampling

What should I check on a sample before approving bulk?

Read sampling guide

Approve the physical sample against local expectations before bulk: nude match, opacity, stretch recovery and packaging language. Confirm style code, size run and destination market in the same pass so cosmetic tweaks do not get mixed with construction changes.

  • Confirm style code, size run and destination market.
  • Check fit, opacity and finishing under local lighting if possible.
  • Approve logo position, hangtag language and carton marks.
  • Separate cosmetic changes from construction changes in the inquiry.
